The current Council/Board structure (aka “ the Don Abdon model”) has served POP well in the past.  However, as Prince of Peace has grown in size it has become increasingly ineffective and problematic.  Over the last several months, the staff and council have been investigating another model of church leadership. On April 17, the council voted to recommend to the congregation a model of church leadership known as “Policy-Based Governance” ("PBG").

The process of investigating, assessing, preparing for adoption, and the the ultimate implementation of PBG is quite involved, and Prince of Peace has put together a Working Group, made up of members of the church council, to lead this effort.  Since Septermber 13, 2006, the PBG Working Group has been meeting and developing proposed policies, amendments to by-laws and constitutions and presentation materials for the congregation.  This site has been set-up to facilitate the distribution of information that the Working Group has collected and developed.
